Changes to fare cap from 1 January 2025 26/10/2023
There will be changes to the fare cap and other fares from Wednesday 1 January 2025
Due to changes made by HM Government the current £2 fare cap for single bus fares in England will be raised to £3 from 1 January 2025 and the scheme will run until 31 December 2025.
The cap means that no single fares on routes* included in the scheme will exceed £3 and, to make the transition as simple as possible for our customers, we will be introducing a discounted short journey fare of £2.50 from the same date.
There will also be changes to other fares that do not fall within the scheme.
For those travelling with us frequently then our great range of unlimited travel tickets for day, week or 4 weekly travel, may offer even greater savings than buying singles in the fare cap scheme.
Full details of all our new fares** can be found by clicking here
Contactless payment is preferred. We do accept cash payments on board, but please have the exact fare ready as no change will be given.
* Most school bus routes are exempt from the scheme and are therefore not included.
** Any single fare shown in the attached fare charts that is greater than £3 will be capped at £3 for a single journey.
